The 2020 Advent Project: Online Devotional Series during Advent Season
The 2020 Advent Project (http://ccca.biola.edu/advent/2020/#day-dec-1) starts on the first day of Advent, November 29, 2020, and continues through Epiphany, January 6, 2021. Each day of the Advent Project features a Scripture passage, a devotion written by a member of the Biola community, a work of visual art, a poem, and a piece of music. Our prayer is that in the midst of these challenging times, the Advent Project will help ground you in the unsurpassable beauty, mystery, and miracle of the Word made flesh.
Reverend Jeannette Conver
Pastor Jeannette and her husband Lynn moved to Washington state in 1990 to work on Bible translation for a refugee group from Laos living in Seattle. Jeannette became involved in lay ministry at Kent Covenant Church, Kent, WA, and was subsequently added to their pastoral staff in 2006. It was during this time she received her call to pastoral ministry. She studied at North Park Theological Seminary as a distance student while continuing in ministry at Kent Covenant Church. She completed seminary in May 2017 and was ordained in June 2017. Jeannette accepted a call to Covenant Community Church in July 2017.
Jeannette loves leading and caring for God’s church in all its diversity, beauty, and mess. She comes alive when conversing with people about almost anything. She enjoys people, singing and playing music, Thai food, talking about books and movies, playing with her grandchildren in Washington state, and exploring new places. She is thoroughly enjoying the beauty of Vermont and is excited that God has called her to this church of amazing, spirited, and gracious people.
